They had no clue that the world was actually waiting to hear their new creations. And the hardcore they started to produce just for the fun of it sounded fresher to them than the stuff they did before. In the hardcore scene they were having more fun than they had had before as Fierce Ruling Diva. How could such nice guys play such terrorizing noise, you might have said! But Flamman & Abraxas knew better. At the same time, they had built a reputation, which they had to keep up, as being amongst the hardest DJ's in Holland. Then one day they had enough of Fierce Ruling Diva. The Fierce Ruling Diva tracks "You Got To Believe" and "Rubb It In" are still on many compilations. It worked: they did live shows from Mexico to L.A. They moved to New York for a while, then came back to Amsterdam to start spinning, organize raves (with Jeroen's mother Bep at the door), open Subtopia (a record store, but in New York, not Amsterdam) and release records on their own label as Fierce Ruling Diva. But okay, it went a little bit like this: Jeroen Flamman walked into a club one evening and met Jeff "Abraxas" Porter, a tourist from New York. We prefer looking into the future, you know. We have an idea, but we're not sure, and to be honest we don't care. They do all the musical work And when they're done, we come in to scream into the mikes. Party Animals would not be Party Animals without our big friends, the always well-dressed DJ Abraxas and his inseperable partner DJ Jeroen Flamman. Now Remsy has left us so we're back to four men: Evert, Paul, Patrick and Robert.īut really there are six of us. Then "Stand-In" gabber Robert joined the group. Up until a year ago there were always four of us in any photo. People fight over how to pronounce our name, but we usually say it as one word and change the "t" in Party into a "d" and stress the A of Animals.
